Voice your hands

Today I want to talk about American Sign Language.  ASL is a visual language. With signing, the brain processes linguistic information through the eyes. The shape, placement, and movement of the hands, as well as facial expressions and body movements, all play important parts in conveying information.(www.nad.org)

Every Sunday worship, I can't help but to look over to our Sign Language Ministry who week after week are utilizing thier hands to bless lives through worship and the word of God. Ivelys Tavarez and Jassel Custodio do such an amazing job and what I love about them is that they are so passionate about what they do.  They view this more than a weekly task, it's a life-changing experience for the deaf community!  There are so many people that wished they lived close to a church or a community that provides support groups for their needs and we are so blessed to have the resources.  All it takes is someone who is willing to use their talents to bless someone else's lives.

This week I was speaking to Iveyls Tavarez and she was telling me about some amazing plans this ministry has for 2012.  Jassel Custodio has been talking about getting prepared to sign for our annual Worship Conference in a couple weeks. These ladies sacrifice so much of their time but always with a willinging heart. The ultimate goal is for the lives to be impacted and they are doing extraordinary job!

Someone is waiting for you to reach out because you will be the person God will use to change their lives.  These ladies may not receive a weekly recognition but I guarantee you that each and every week they are impacting lives without them even knowing; they are giving hope when there seems to be no hope.  They are brightening their day by putting their talents to use. So many people's voices are being heard through thier hands! See Ivelys Tavarez and Jassel Custodio voice thier hands every Sunday at 12:00 noon EST on www.lasendaantigua.org.

I encourage you today to find a way to impact someone's life.  It may be with a smile, a compliment, an uplifting word, a song, doing someone a favor, whatever it may be.  You just never know, that small gesture or action may go a long way.

Be Blessed & Be Encouraged!
