Gym Time! Why is it so important for some people to stay actively fit? For some, it's just not enough to go to the gym and workout on their own but they need an extra push so they hire a personal trainer. These trainers are paid to teach, motivate and push. By doing so, they will be building character, discipline and stamina that will benefit them in future workout sessions. They then start to see the results of the hard work put into these workouts, such as weight loss, fit bodies, strength & endurance. This, ultimately leads them to maintain a healthier lifestyle.
The book of James 4:7 says "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." The word is showing us here that if we submit to God; in other words, if we obey him and we resist the devil, he will go away. What do you mean resist the devil? I'm talking about everything that the world has to offer that is not pleasing to God's eyes.
You see, God is our personal trainer! Just like we have to do everything our trainer tells us to do so we can see the results in our bodies, we have to do what God tells us to do because by doing so, we will gain resistance, strength and endurance in our faith. Then, and only then, will we be strong enough to resist any temptation that may come our way. Kinda like resisting that chocolate bar, or that double fudge cake. With time, your will power becomes stronger and stronger to resist those hard to burn calories. But the secret to this all is listening and obeying your trainer.
Same thing with the word. As you indulge yourself in the word of God, you start to build strength and character so when the devil comes around with temptation, you can resist! (repeating to yourself: No, I don't need those fattening calories in my body! No, I don't need that temptation in my life!) then he will have no choice but to run away.
I encourage you to obey and resist. Your trainer will always have your best interest in mind. If you obey your eartly trainer and resist the fattening calories, you will see how the pounds will run away from your body. If you obey your heavenly trainer and resist the worldly things, you will see how the devil will run away from your life. Let's commit ourselves to live healthy and long-lasting earthly and spiritual lives.
Be Blessed & Be Encouraged!
