Surrender

Surrender is to yield to the possession or power of another.
Let's face it, its hard to just give in to something or someone, right? But is it really if you know the end results will be good?  Are you able to surrender to anything if you knew you would benefit from it in the long run?

The question is: What are you holding on to?
What is it that is not allowing you to grow as an individual, as a student, as a professional, or as a parent? Let us auto-examine our lives and see what areas we can improve as a person. I decided to write about this topic because my husband and I are preparing a teaching for the young adults in our church, precisely on this topic of Surrender. And Francis Chan, an amazing pastor, a great speaker and author puts this series together and breaks it up into a four session series. I can't wait to share these teachings with our youth.

I think it's important we start off the year with the right mindset.  A mentality of greatness.  You must surrender to gain! Today, I encourage you to surrender to your old ways, lack of commitment, lack of time management, laziness, to all of the things and people who may hinder you to accomplishing the goals you have set out to reach this year.  Yes, ladies and gents, I said people too.  It's time to let go of those unhealthy relationships, your frenemies and all of those people who simply wish to not see you succeed.  There are more people who want to see you be successful and happy, stick to those!  Most importantly, surrender to God! Yield your ways, decisions and desires to the Lord and you will see how he will straighten out your path and bring forth a wonderful future for you!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11 [NIV]

Be Blessed, Be Encouraged!
