Do You Trust Me?

Do you trust me? Then let it go! –God

Allow Me to take over your life completely; every single area, surrender it to me. Do you trust me enough to put your guards down, be vulnerable and just be real for a moment? No front, no masks, no walls; just pure transparency. It's hard, isn't it?

Trust God with your heart, trust Him with your emotions and let go of everything that has been weighing you down. Let go of the dead weight, it causes fatigue and  unnecessary delays. Let go of the old baggage that is causing frustration because you're not at the level or the place that you know you should be. Do you trust Him enough to let go? Only you know the answer.

With a few days left in 2015, I urge you to refuse to enter into a new year with the old. God cannot give you something new, if you don’t relinquish the old. Make room for the new; it will change your life. Clear out the clutter in your mind and in your heart and accept only the good. The bible says in Philippians 4:8 “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

This leaves absolutely no room for the negative, the past, or the hurt. Romans 12:2 says "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." To renew our minds is to subject it to the Word of God. It is a daily decision, not just one day, but every day. Filtering our thoughts through God's Word will help us gain grounds when the enemy tries to bombard us with his filthy lies.

Take a moment to think about the things, the words, the people, and the actions, the past and present experiences and filter them through the Word of God. Be intentional about every thought that consumes your brain and measure it up to Philippians 4:8. Is it true or is it false? Is it honorable or is it untrustworthy? Is it right or is it wrong? Is it pure or is it immoral? Is it lovely or is it hateful? And is it admirable or is it shameful? If the answer is yes, then you're on the right track, continue to indulge in those thoughts because they are excellent and praiseworthy! But if the answer is no; then the question is, do you trust God enough to let go and allow Him to replace it with the good? Only you can check yourself, only you can admit it, only you can desire the change. God is willing, are you?

Today is a good day to unravel layer after layer of  past hurt, deception, unforgiveness and failures; strip yourself completely bare into the presence of God and allow Him to do a new thing in your life. 2016 is around the corner and He has new things lined up for you. When you surrender it all to God, He will give you His all; because you have gotten rid of the old and made room to receive the new.

"Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track. Don't assume that you know it all." - Proverbs 3:5 (MSG)

Can't Stop

Yesterday, I came across this simple yet powerful quote: “If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop working for it” and it made me really think about it. If you can't stop, then don't stop but do something about it.

There are two key words that strike me immediately when reading this statement and it is thinking and working. What is it that you are constantly thinking about? What are you continuously talking about? What consumes your thoughts? What are the things that are taking space in your mind? These are very important questions to ask yourself because ultimately that will lead to your passion; what really burns inside of you.  Once you’ve figured out that very thing or things that you can’t stop thinking about then the next question is: What are you doing about it? Are you working toward it? Are you working for it? Sometimes we get stuck at this point. We just think about it, we just wish upon it but in order to achieve it, you must reach for it. Action must be taken and action requires mobility and hard work!

I encourage you today that no matter what you have in your heart, and in your mind; work hard and push forward until you see it come into existence. Dreams are sowed in our heads, nurtured in our hearts and reaped through our hard work. You want to see your dreams blossom into a beautiful reality? Work hard! I wish it were easier but there are no shortcuts or easy way out. As I heard once, the way to success is by taking the stairs, not the elevator. "There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs". The elevator experience will never give you a true perspective of your journey.  As you’re taking the stairs to your place of destiny, enjoy the ride and the beautiful and not so beautiful scenery, for they are experiences that will mold you and shape you into the person you need to be in order to deliver the task you were called to do.

Remember if you can't stop, don't stop because there is a greater purpose that awaits you!

Never Stop

You must depend on Christ only, drawing life and strength from him. Just as you were taught the truth, continue to grow stronger in your understanding of it. And never stop giving thanks to God.
{Colossians 2:7}

When we are rooted in Christ and in the Word, our hearts are filled with Thanksgiving. When we have understood the truth of the Gospel, we will always be appreciative of everything we have and do not have. There will never be room for self-pity, negativity or lack. Why? Because He supplies all of our needs according to His riches and glory. If we do not have, it's simply because we do not need at the present moment. We do not lack because the Lord is our Shepard and we have all that we need. He is our Provider; therefore, we should never stop giving thanks. Never stop!

Our subconscious mind, which is working constantly in the background, processes thoughts at about 1200 to 1400 words per minute. What are you constantly thinking about? What are you infiltrating your mind with on a daily basis? Take a moment to dwell on a simple; yet powerful thought, you are blessed and God has nothing but the best for you! You do not lack anything; you are a child of the Most High! Forget all of the negativity, forget about the things you do not have and focus on the positives and on what you do have. If you dwell on that for ten minutes, it’s like being told 14,000 times that"You are blessed!" and not only that, but then your brain goes on a journey to find the evidence to affirm that thought.

Stop what you are doing right now and take two minutes to look for, think about and count all your blessings, all the good things that you have in your life right now and give Thanks! That's almost 3,000 words of "good things" running through your brain. Practice this daily. Make it a habit to continuously reflect on the good versus the bad. Positivity will always take you further than clutters of negativity. What kind of thoughts are you filling your mind with? You have a choice today to make a turnaround. Never stop giving thanks because you are overwhelmingly blessed. The more we give thanks, the more we will live a happy and blessed life.

Today, I encourage you to Never Stop .... Giving Thanks!
