The power of Words

I love to read devotionals because I receive a sense of empowerment and encouragement that no matter what I am going through, everything is going to be ok. We can all relate, I'm sure. The simple thought of knowing that things may have slipped from our control but nothing slips God is comforting. He has and will always have control over everything in our life! And something that I have told myself repeatedly is that words are powerful. The words that come out of your mouth have power to bless or curse, it has power to shift a negative atmosphere to a positive one. Your thoughts are translated into words and those words have power to bring forth change. Need a change in your life? It starts with your declaration. Make sure that your words coincide with the results you want to see. The bible says "Keep this Book of the Law [word of God] always on your lips; meditating on it day and night [your thoughts], so that you may be careful to do everything written in it [obedience]. Then you will be prosperous and successful [God's blessings]. {Joshua 1:8}

I came across this awesome word from Dr. Cindy Trimm and I wanted to share it with you. I know it will bless and encourage you!!

A certain cleaning brand has a new series of commercials that are really powerful! Have you seen the ads where people are blindfolded and asked to describe what they smell? In each instance, they are brought to a place overflowing with garbage, dirty socks, or rotting food. But, in every case, the blindfolded test subjects have a pleasant response, saying it smells like the ocean, clean laundry, or tropical breezes. 

In each of the commercials, we're promised that this wonderful product has the ability to transform the environment from disgusting to delightful; that no place is so odiferous that a few sprays of this amazing cleaner can't make it pleasant again. 

Whether you believe the product claims or not, it does provide a great parallel for what you and I can experience in our lives. You see, you are likely to find yourself in places that aren't always pleasant. Maybe you're dealing with stress or conflict on the job. Maybe your home has become anything but a place of peace and rest. It doesn't have to stay that way!

You can neutralize the negative effects of what has taken place in your home and in your business by what you put into the atmosphere. You have been empowered by God to infuse His Presence, His Promises, His Provision, and His Protection into your environment. You have the power within you to change your surroundings - wherever you are - into a place of peace and prosperity... because GOD is within YOU!

In fact, you can initiate the change you want through the power of your words. Job 22:28 states that you can decree a thing and it shall be established. The power of blessing and cursing, even life and death, is in the words you speak.

It's time for you to take authority with your words. Put them to work FOR you instead of against you by declaring your home and business blessed!

Powerful words by Dr. Cindy Trimm, huh? I encourage you to not say what you don't want to see, but declare [speak] what you want to see happen in your life, in your family, in your situation. Your words, when aligned with the word of God are powerful and life-changing. I will leave you with this verse, "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edge sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. {Hebrews 4:12}

Start Right

I think I am having a change of heart with respect to Mondays. 99.9% of people hate Mondays; let’s face it, we all wish it was still the weekend.  Poor Mondays get bashed with cruel comments and bad attitudes because it represents the beginning of a new work week.  But recently, I’ve grown to understand the purpose of this day and the importance of starting your day right!

I can almost assure you that although I still do not love Mondays, (love is such a strong word) I do not despise it.  I look forward to starting the work week right.  You are given an unbelievable power that many do not know they possess; you get to set the tone to what the rest of the week will be for you.  Isn’t that awesome?  When you have the right attitude, life runs so much smoother than when you’re acting like a scrooge.  I’m not saying that every Monday for the rest of your life is going to be pure joy; of course we are going to have our days, we’re humans. What I am saying is that your attitude plays a big part of how your day will be.  If you choose to have a good day regardless of what happens, chances are your day will be good.  If you start each week with the right attitude and declare that it will be a blessed, purposeful and productive week, it will be just that. There is power in what you declare and there is also power in your actions. 
 

 

Let every Monday be your Motivation! Your motivation to complete your goals for the week, your motivation to get one step closer to your dreams, your motivation to be inspiring to others; that’s what your mindset should be.  Look at it this way; every Monday you have a brand new opportunity to get it right if it wasn’t last week.  You have a new opportunity to go back to the ‘drawing board’ and correct what was wrong and come back stronger than ever.  You have the opportunity to maximize on new opportunities that God is giving you. The possibilities are endless when you take advantage of a brand new start, that’s what Mondays can offer you; a fresh start.

Are you excited yet?  I don’t expect you to be jumping up and down and scream out loud: I love Mondays like a maniac!! I’m sure your co-workers will be looking at you very strangely but I do hope that you are able to grasp the essence of my message. If you start right, you’ll end right and that’s precisely what we should do every week, start right.  At the end of each work week, we should be able to look back and say; I had a blessed, purposeful and productive week because I decided to start the week right!

In your mouth is the power to bless or curse.  Change your attitude and bless your Mondays because by doing so, you are blessing the beginning of your work week and whatever projects you have set out to do that week. Declare God’s blessing over your life in general.  Want to have a blessed week? Start to declare that Mondays are a blessing and you will see that the Monday blessing will trickle down to every day of the week. And by the time the week is over, you will have seen that not only Monday was a blessing but Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That is how you have a blessed week.

The secret

 It's already the middle of January, can you believe how time flies? Pretty soon we'll be in the middle of the year!  But as each day passes, remain focused on your goals for this year.  Let this be a different year for your life, a year of fulfillment! Remember God will always be by your side but there will always be a part you have to do; God can't do it all for you! It takes faith but it takes work to see your dreams come to life.  And as we continue to walk in this year of fulfillment; in which, you will finally see your dreams come to pass, remember to worship.  That word of God that was spoken to your life as you begin to see those promises unfold right before your eyes, remember to worship your way through your victory!  You may still be in the "waiting room" hoping, believing and trusting that this will be a different year for you; worship your way through your trials, worship your way through your miracle!

The difference between 2012 and 2013 is your worship! I don't know if you understand what the power of worship does in a someone's life.  When you open up your mouth and you begin to worship God for who He is and not what He can give you; you are showing Him unconditional love. When you  begin to worship like if everything is alright when truly everything in your life is a mess, you are trusting God with your life.  When we begin to worship, we begin to declare and speak the unspoken, we begin to see the unseen.  There is a new vision, a new passion, the power to conquer the unconquerable. That power is bestowed in us and all of the sudden, nothing is impossible!  The bible says that He who is in us is more powerful than he who is against us and if God is with us, then who can be against us?  If Jesus dwells inside of us, there can be nothing that could hold me back!  Do you believe it?  I truly believe if we put our 'game face' on this year, some serious stuff will happen.  We will be able to conquer new territory, reach new heights and nothing shall be impossible!!!  But THE SECRET is worship!  Everytime you get discouraged, worship, everytime you want to give up, worship, everytime you start to doubt, worship.  Because worship will pave the way for you, it will make your journey alot smoother, it will direct you, it will take you to a new level so you can see things for a different perpective.  Worship will take you to God's heart and reveal to you His plan for your life. Worship your way to your victory!!!

I want to take this time to share with you this great worship event next weekend, January 25-26, 2013.  It will be an unbelievable experience!  I am personally super hyped about it because it's going to be a life-changing experience.  We will have two powerhouse women of God with an unbelievable anointing to worship and lead people to the presences of God. Joann Rosario-Condrey and Lilly Goodman will be joining us this year for our annual worship conference.  This year is extremely special because we will be celebrating five years of Adoracion Worship Conference (AWC) and it is truly an honor to have these ladies with us.  I encourage everyone who can make it to AWC '13 come on out because it will change your life!  For more info on the event, visit: www.adoracionconference.com

The Voice

This past Saturday I was with my sister and my cousin doing our weekly radio shows and the topic was: The Voice.  I'm sure alot of us know or have heard about the singing competition called "The Voice." What is so unique about the show is that there are four judges who have their backs to the contestants and they are simply there to listen to their voices.  It's a good thing because everyone gets a fair chance, they do not have to worry about being pre-judged by what they look like or what they may be wearing.  It's a singing competition and they will be judged strictly on their talent as a vocalist. 

And thinking about this, it reminded me so much of how God is with us.  He doesn't judge us for who we are or who we were.  He doesn't care if you are rich or poor, if you are popular, outgoing, or shy.  The Bible says that He makes no respecter of persons, in other words, he makes no distinction.  He has no favorites!  God loves us all, his children and even those who are living a sinful life, He despises the sin but loves the sinner.  And just as He blesses someone in particular, He wants to do the same thing for you as well BUT... you have to use your Voice!

If we were to really understand the power that we have in our voice, supernatural things would be happening in our surroundings.  When we open up our mouth to confess and make a declaration, we are making a decision to act.  We are convinced that things cannot remain the same!  Open up your mouth to declare changes in your life, let your voice be heard and decree healing over your body.  Manifest with your voice that things will not remain the same in your family.  If you only let your voice be heard and say the words, heaven and earth will be shaken and ready to work in your favor, just say the word!!!!

If you are content with everything in your life right now, then this isn't for you, "forever hold your peace" BUT I am talking to those who need a change.  I am talking to someone who knows that big changes have to come their way.  I am talking to someone who is "sick and tired of being sick and tired" and needs something different in their lives.  I am telling you today that God has given you a voice to stand up in the mist of the crowd, in the mist of a noisy world and make a declaration that will silence everyone and everything around you.  Declare change! I have good news for you today, there are no preferential treatments with God, if you declare and believe it, it is done. Just step out in faith and He will honor your faith. 

The Bible speaks about the faith of the centurion in Matthew 8:5-13.  This man was looking for Jesus because He knew the power that He had and the centurion made a request for his servant that was lying down on his death bed.  Jesus asks him if he should go out to the house and this man told Jesus, "just say the word and my servant will be healed." WOW! How powerful is that?  That shows us that there is power in the name of Jesus, there is power when words are spoken! Jesus then says "Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith." He was amazed at this man's faith! The story concludes in a miracle, the bible says that the servant was indeed healed by those spoken words that were declared. 

Today, I encourage you to speak words of faith, words of encouragement, words of wisdom, words of change! Open your mouth and let your voice be heard.  The bible says that the power of God is in us, He dwells inside of us so that means we have the authority to speak those things that we do not see into existence.  There is power in the words that come out of your mouth.  It's time to use it!
